Ram Navami in Klang

pict0953KLANG, MALAYSIA – ISKCON KLANG is the only centre in Malaysia which has Sri Sri Sita Ram Lakshman and Hanuman deities as one of their presiding deities. One gets the feeling of being victorious just watching them here every Sunday.pict0920

However, this time, even the main deities, Sri Sri Radha Govinda changed their mood and They were dressed as Ram and Sita. It was lovely sight to behold, Sri Govinda in green chandan, complete with his bow, arrow and quiver. Srimati Radharani looked the befitting Sita with her shy and coy looks. The lavender outfit with flower motifs were simple yet elegant. And don’t forget to see Sri Hanumanji looking extremely wise,  who was made just for the occasion. Thanks to the artistic hands of Sahadev prabhu that we were able to behold this wonderful sight.

pict0930Due to the mercy of HG Param Brahma, the priest who was specially brought in for the day, our Saligrama, Sri Govindaji, also got abhiseked together with Sri Sri Sita Ram Lakshman and Hanuman. The devotees here are all very lucky to be able to abhishek the Saligrama as well. Just as HG Param Brahma was offering the ghee lamps to the main deities, a flower dropped from the altar. Hopefully it’s a sign that our desires will all be fulfilled.

Later HG Kalpa Vrksa prabhu gave a enlightening class on the pastimes of Sri Hanumanji. This was followed by a sumptuous feast which included the maha prasadam which had been made and offered by the loving hands of the matajis here.

The Story behind:
pict0933Ram was a noble prince in the kingdom of Ayodhya, happily married to the lovely princess Sita.  At the instigation of his stepmother Kaikeyi, Rama was sent to the forest in exile for fourteen years. Obeying this decree, Rama, Sita, and his younger brother Lakshmana set out for the forest.  There they settled into a simple life together.

pict0950One day the indulgent King Ravana, learning of their whereabouts and seeking revenge for an earlier conflict, appeared at their hut disguised as an ascetic. Tricking the innocent Sita, Ravana swept her up in to his flying chariot, carrying her off to his island Kingdom of Lanka.  In the meantime Rama, enlisting the aid of the brave monkey army, went in search of his beloved Sita.

As they reached Lanka, a fierce and bloody battle ensued in which Ram eventually killed Ravana.  Having completed their fourteen years of exile, Ram, Sita and Lakshmana returned victorious to the capital of Ayodhya.  The entire city rejoiced with festivities by the lighting of thousands of lamps as Ram was coronated king.

It has been a great pleasure moment for me to have a wonderful darshan of Seetha Ram Lakshmana Hanumaji and I am also very happy that HG Param Brahma has received a beuitiful shaligrama shila. I would like to offer in future if the Iskcon Klang needs to celebrate auspicious days such as Nrsimha Caturdasi, Varaha jayanthi and etc. And if you are interested I can bring their Lordship in the form of shaligrama shila…..I have been worshipping shaligrama shila for the past 5 years.

The Ram Navami festival was a wonderful festival celebrated in ISKCON Klang.
I really enjoyed the festival especially taking Darshan of Sri Radha Govindaji who actually changed their mood just to fulfill the transcendental desires of the devotees to worship them as Sri Sita Ramachandra. I always wanted to see Radha Govindaji dressed in either Lakshmi Narashima vesha, Laksmi Narayana vesha or Sri Sita Rama vesha. During this festival, the merciful Lord fulfilled my desire. Thanks to all the devotees who made this festival a grand success…
