KUALA LUMPUR, MALAYSIA – The Harinam Sankirtan Ministry of Iskcon KL organised the Maha Damodara Harinam on Sunday 16th November 2008. Harinams were conducted in different locations around Klang Valley. A total of 34 Harinam teams and 736 homes were visited on that day. 140 devotees participated in Rawang and approximately 90 devotees went around Klang Valley. Many first timers joined us, and judging by their response, it’s definitely not the last for them.
The areas covered in Klang Valley include Kajang, Cheras, Ampang, Segambut, Balakong, Shah Alam, OUG, Taman Medan and Taman Sentosa. Last year, we did a Damodar Harinam in Kepong where we visited 350 homes with 120 devotees, and we have multiplied that this year. It was a spontaneous response by our devotees. In years to come, we will have thousands marching in every town and village chanting the Holy Names. Virtually every devotee in our Yatra will vouch on the joy of going out chanting the Holy Name. We conducted four Maha Harinams this year, the last being Damodar Harinam.
We like to thank our congregation devotees, especially HG Vrindavan Chandra prabhu who defied his age and discomfort to lead us in Rawang, HG Sundaram prabhu and wife for the breakfast provided and HG Sulocana mataji to host all the devotees for lunch in her home. Our sincere thanks also to the members of the Harinam Council Prakash prabhu, Saravanakugan prabhu, Kumar prabhu and Isvara Gopal Dasa prabhu who planned and coordinated the Maha Harinam event.
