MAYAPUR, INDIA – As part of the regular Saturday practical Krishna Conscious activities, children from the Sri Mayapur International School went on harinama around Srila Prabhupada’s Samadhi on Saturday afternoon. Nanda-Nandana mesmerized everyone with his expert kirtana leading, boys played their mrdangas enthusiastically, and the girls displayed some of their best dancing skills. Tamala and Laksmana also bravely took the microphone to lead kirtana – it takes quite a bit of courage for the small children to lead kirtana in public. AGM – ISKCON GBC 13-14/2/2009 (Day 2 and 3)

MAYAPUR, INDIA – The second day of the GBC meetings opened with a presentation by the Law Book Committee. Aniruddha Prabhu presented the progress of the committee in revising the current law book which contains constitutional principles, action orders, rules of order, administrative guidelines and governing law. The committee is working to classify and update the new law book for ease of use. A major highlight of their work has been the creation of a searchable wiki with the last ten years of GBC Resolutions and previous version of the Law Book. Continue reading

MAYAPUR (INDIA) – The 2009 Annual General Meeting of ISKCON’s Governing Body Commission commenced with arati and guru-puja kirtana to Srila Prabhupada, who is present in murti form in the meeting hall. Apart from the large murti, this year there is a small murti of Srila Prabhupada fixed on a beautiful altar near the Chairman’s seat. After the reading of Srimad-Bhagavatam 1.9.16, Ramai Swami, Chairman, began the proceedings by explaining the absence of several members, mostly due to health issues. He also gave a brief summary of the Executive Committee’s work during the year. Continue reading

HH Radhanath Swami, HH Umapati Swami, HH Bhakti Raghava Swami, HH Bhakti Purusottama Swami, HG Visuddha sattva prabhu participated in the inaugural ceremony and blessed the activities of Mayapur Community Sevaks. Maharajas danced to the ecstatic kirtan by Harinam devotees.

KLANG, MALAYSIA – An intricately designed white dress with Holy Names sewn in various languages spoken here in Malaysia was embroidered by our expert seamstress HG Vimala Madhavi mataji for Nityananda Trayodasi.

The ‘Hare Krishna’ mahamantra was written in English, Malayalam, Telugu and Tamil on all the dresses of the deities here. White flowers, jewelleries set with gem stones and pearls added to the finishing touches on Their Lordships. Also see the beautiful blue patterns on Krishna’s arms done by Sahadev prabhu.
